I'm honestly just trying to scrape by with my reading challenge for this year. I have some doubts about accomplishing it and therefore I'm trying my best with all these short fairy tale books that were first published in Estonian several decades ago. Snow white and the seven dwarves were first published back in 1956 - it has be republished several times, but always with the same gorgeous illustrations by Siima Škop.
The story goes as almost everyone knows, but I'm fairly sure that there was also a version where Snow White and the prince gave the queen some poisoned shoes to dance in at their wedding ... This version, however, has the queen turn ugly from her envy at Snow White's beauty and run into the woods.
